Yea - but if you were designing your own (as they were doing back then) what would your basic concept - the "BOTTOM LINE" be on it?

I realise "Herr Professor Doktor Willie" had all of those huge resources behind him (sheetmetal stamping facilities and so on) and many had a lot of fiberglass tech, when it was still inexpensive to do that.

What priorities would I myself place on such a machine?

For one it ought to be FUN....

To my mind, the primary consideration in a micro these days is that it ought to somehow present a unique and challenging mode of transportation available only in the paradigm of the dedicated few who are willing to cross country in what very much amounts to a glorified GO-KART!

I would enjoy the bloody blazes out of something like that!

Especially if it was just big enough to register as an actual honest to god CAR.

I have been toying with ideas for something in this "type" for several years, and I still have not let the ideas go.

 

Of course i agree with you about that, but every car has itīs funny side, even those that break down all the time (really!, they do!... if you arenīt driving them thatīs it). And i bet you would have fun in a Smart driving around an seeing the looks on the peopleīs faces as you drive around .

 

The new "Mini Cooper" is a wonderful reincarnation - it's fast!

But the price is way up there. Agreed: It makes a dynamite statement!!!
