Scale models
I didn't read through all these posts, but ERTL (AMT) is re-releasing many of the original AMT 1/24th and 1/25 scale model kits. Some of the boxes carry the original artwork, some have been gussied up.
In the heyday of these kits, they were made by Lindbergh, Aurora, AMT, Jo-Han, Revell, Pyro, and a few lesser known makers.
The first scale models were cast from aluminum by AMT (Aluminum Metal Toys) their first one was a 1947 Ford Fordor. It was made for Ford Dealers as a give-away...the first of the promotional models.
One of the first promotional models made in plastic was the 1948 International pickup. Try finding one today in the original box! Having the original box with an early promo can double or triple the value.

AMT released the 79 King Ranch which I bought for 25 bucks. Haven't put it together, but I wondered why they made the box with the outline of the "tire door on the side" like the camper specials.
I also bought an original 77 (I think) "Bonnie Boss truck" off Ebay last year for about 50 bucks. The plastic was torn off the box, but the pieces were still in the original packaging. Nothing was opened on the inside. Not sure what I'm going to do with them.
I would like to see AMT or someone else start making the ford trucks again. I want to make an exact or close too replica off my 77 F250 4x4
