Dearborn vs. Kansas City Quality

Hey guys, just thought I'd ask this question and get some feedback. My '05 Screw is in the shop again at just 5000 miles and this time will be out for awhile while they wait for new AC line---a problem that some of you have complained about. I've already been through the Cam Phaser problem and that was resolved. Anyway I've had 2 loaners from the dealer, both 5.4's XLT's and have noticed that the acceleration, braking etc in both of these is better (both have had between 3000 and 7000 miles) than my truck. I've had the PCM update etc. Both the loaners were KC trucks. After talking with a family relative who works for Ford in Dearborn no less, he hinted that the KC quality level is better. My truck is a Dearborn truck. Anyone out there have a lot of quality issues with Dearborn. I've been a Ford Truck driver my whole life and never had the problems with their stuff like this. I'm really starting to feel the need to change teams here....One more problem and this thing is out like yesterday's garbarge. The dealer has treated me well with the loaners and that is saving the game at this point!

Virginia truck for me, and no bugs except a noisy blower motor. That's in 7k miles.

These trucks do 'break in' after 3-4k and get a tad more horsepower. What gears on the rear of those loaners? Same as yours? Makes a huge difference.

I got a Dearborn Crew Cab 4x4.

Build date 9/04 and she's been great so far. Only issue was emergency brake problem that I took care of myself.

05 Lariat SuperCrew built in Dearborn in Febraury, only a rough idle that was fixed when the computer was reflashed. I was born and raised in Detroit and am partial to the Dearborn plant, it is brand new and have heard the build quality is better there...

Dearborn here. Built 04/04, and I have had a few problems such as cam phaser (not resolved yet), squealing brakes, fuel door.
Hey Chris, is your blower only noisy on one of the speed settings or all of them?
Mine is noisy only on setting #3.

It was... It only made noise on two. Then after three months, it made noise on three. Four you couldn't hear it. When it started making noise on 1, it had to die.

Frankly, I could have bought it on line, and put it in (two minute job) cheaper than two trips to the dealership. On one, they found out that it really was the blower, Duh! Then they ordered the part. When they put it in, the dodo broke my fuse cover door. That only took six weeks and a pile of the wrong parts to fix.

I've got a KC FX4 SCREW. It's been in twice, once for the 5,000 oil change/rotation and once again for the 10,000. My first Ford. This truck is so good I'm likely to give Ford my next vehicle purchase as well.

My 04 Lariat SCab is Dearborn built and I have had no problems. A while back I thought the A/C was not doing it's job well but I have to say after this Texas summer kicked in, it is certainly up to the task. Probably just the power of suggestion with me thinking there was a problem. My rear window has been making a little noise and when I do the 15,000 mi service next month, I'll have that tended to. Otherwise, no problems and I would buy a Dearborn truck all over again.
