Help me out if you can I had an 04 lariat that had a great stereo, I just picked up my new company truck, a 2005 xlt f150 super crew and the stereo is pathetic!

What can I do for 4 or 5 hundred bucks, that's really all I can afford. Should I use the head unit and just up grade the speakers and or put in an amp or two and a sub?? Or will I need to put in a whole system? Thnx

 

I would get rid of the crappy stock radio and put in a nice Pioneer. If it still sounds crappy, new speakers.

yeah the headunit will make the most difference...after that the stock speakers are almost tolerable. The fatory headunits clip the bass frequencies as the volume is increased which results ina horrid sound. I put my sony deck in and the left the stock speakers (But I have 2 subs for bass and use active crossovers to cut the bass from the door speakers).
