Will be getting a new F250 6.0L this year at some point and want some ideas on tires and a lift. Probably end up with 17" Weld Racing wheels 8.5 or 10" wide. Want a nice ride with the lift/leveling kit. Whatever it takes to make 35" tires not rub and look nice. Thinking BFG 315's or something there abouts. Would a 3.5" leveling kit work ok? What type kit would work and ride the best?

Just looking for some ideas so I can start looking for these parts.

No way you need different wheels or lifts to make 315's work. I just picked up my 2005 XLT F250 V-10 6 speed and there is plenty of room up front for 315's and probably enough in back for the 37/12.5 x 17's I want on there. I am going to use the stock rims but since I am not driving this truck much I may just put 315's on back for now and then just before snow falls, I will move them up front and add the 37's to the rear. BFG 37's are about 36" and the Goodyear GSA 37's are 36.8". TireRack.com shows all those specs and prices and are great to work with and charge no sales tax and shipping is modest. Go to their site and forget inputting info about your vehicle. Go to search by tires and plug in 315/70 x 17's and it will show you what is available, including their prices. I think only one BFG type right now. Then click on "specs" and it will give load limit, diam., section width, etc.

 

I put a leveling kit in mine with M/T 17x9 classic locks with M/T Dick Cepec 35s, they look awsome but rub sometimes.
I will do a superlift 4 inch soon with the front skid plate.

If your going with 35s put at least a 4 inch lift under truck.

 

fordfast, WHY do your 35's rub? It has to be offset is pushing them out where there is contact????? I have measured my brand new 2WD F250 and do not see how a 35" diameter tire can rub front or back and a neighbor has 315/75 x 16's on his and they clear by a LOT, front and back and at full turn.

 

When I turn hard and hit bump they rub, not bad but annoying.
I also had to remove front mud flaps, they rubbed when turning. I`m going to try molded ones in front.

 

Thnx but that is when they rub. Why besides the turning are they rubbing? Do the wheels you are using bring them outboard? Are they an unusually wide tread width? Somehow I picture both those wheels and the tires as being wider than what most of us would use if we got "35's."

 

The rims are M/T classic lock 17x9, dont know offset.
Tires are M/T Dick Cepek radial F-C 2, 35x12.5OR17LT`s.

 

I run 33" BFG all-terrains on 16.5x10 Centerline Tracker wheels (unknown backspacing). These are on my stock 2004 F250 CC SB 6.0. The passenger front tire rubs on the front valance during hard right turns. I am having a 6" Skyjacker Z-link coilover lift installe dthis week to run 35's with no rubbing.

 

I think it is the wheel offset and not the tire diameter causing the rubbing.

 

Danko depends on the year of your truck. I have an '03 2wd with 6" of lift and 35's fit and rub valance slighty at full lock. On 05's it seems that 35's will fit with a slight lift/leveling kit. Check Yeti's gallery, I think he has a pick of a stock 5.4l SD with X Code leafs (tallest stock leaf spring and lightest engine) and 35's do not fit a stock SD. 05 may be different, so before preaching that 35's fit, we should proly verify year of the truck.

 

Look in my gallery at my new F250. I went 6" on 315's (35's) without any rubbing. In my opinion it is the most proportional looking for these trucks. I am running 17x10 welds. When you lift it, no matter how high you go, look into aftermarket rear leaves. I cannot say enough good about mine...
