aod to aode swap easily possible?

I have a 1990 f150 4x4 302 with a cooked aod transmisison. I was talking to a friend the other day and he says he may be able to get me a aode that was just rebuilt out of a 1992 crown vic with a buggered engine. The information I have found on the net indicates that the aode is 7/8 inch longer than an aod and needs an electronic controller. No problems there. My questions are;
Will an aode out of a crown vic with a 4.6 bolt up to a 302?
How would the transfer case be bolted on?
Will an aode bolt onto my crossmember?

I can get the aode for free so the cost of the controller and having the drive shaft shortened are no big deal (still cheaper then having an aod rebuilt) but I dont want to have to do alot of monkeying around or part searching to make it fit properly.

Can I get some comments and suggestions please?

No, it won't bolt up. The bolt patterns are different.
