option pricing question

Hello everybody, just a quick question. My dad and I are about to order a new F550 with a dump bed. The dealer originally pricedit with the PTO option, with an MSRp of $250 but now we find out the electric motor is what we're getting. I'd like to upgrade to the dual alt, MSRP $335. The dealer doesn't want to work with me on the $85. IS he just being stubborn, or is there no way around it, and I am asking too much.

It wouldh've been nice to order from you Jeff, but I couldn't convince my dad to drive to New York for a truck.

Thanks for the help.

If the dealer's arm wrestling with you over $85, it's probably a good thing. When you've got a fat deal going in, it's easy to just "throw it in." Not true if you're down to the profit nubs.

Well, he got back to me with a price of an extra $100. Crazy dealer. But I'm thinking the regular alternator will do just fine. Maybe we'll jsut have to give it a little gas while dumping. Thanks for the help though polarbear.

From Pennsylvania? He sounds like most Rochester natives; if it's more than a 15-minute drive, then it's too far away.

He was more concerned about warranty issues than the drive. I let him know a Ford warranty is a Ford warranty, but he still wanted to say close to home.
