Confession
As a relatively new member of FTE and living in New York, I thought I'd purchase my next Ford through Jeff Clark of Van Bortel Ford since they seemed to offer a great deal to FTE members and his dealership was a reasonable drive (about 7 hours).
Well, I was originally interested in an Excursion and couldn't find what I wanted locally and called Jeff and fortunately (at the time) was able to get an order in just under the wire for an '05 XLT V10 4x4 with Leather & DVD, which ironically is to be produced next week.
After Ford accepted the order for the Excursion and Jeff had sent paperwork to me for review, I had a change of heart and thought an F-250 would suit my needs better. So now Jeff (and Van Bortel) are stuck with an Excursion coming in that they probably didn't really need since I screwed them over on the order (without leaving a deposit - Jeff was nice enough to waive for me).
I feel bad about the entire thing and I know Jeff and the other sponser dealers here at FTE probably have to deal with guys like me more than they'd like.
So, I wanted to apologize to Jeff here on the forums just so people know that these guys have to deal with a lot of BS from people right here on FTE. I'm sure they sell a few vehicles through FTE as well but I'm guessing the ratio of sales to inquiries is low.
Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you are not 100% sure of what you want or how you want it, don't do what I did. I tarnished my reputation of being a fair and honest guy by bailing out on Jeff. I certainly hope that he has been able to cancel the order or possibly sell the truck once it arrives. In addition, he probably has to deal with grief from his sales manager.

Eric

Thanks men. I still have feelings of guilt but hope to make it up to Jeff when I do order my '06 F-250 later this year or early next.
Ryan, did you plan on admistering the lashings? LOL.
