What kind of gas mileage yall gettin?
I've got a 99 3.0L Ranger FFV and I'm pullin about 290 miles to the tank (19.5 gal tank). Doin the math, its gettin some somethin like 14 mpg. And that's after a fresh set of plugs and wires and runnin 93 octane. The engine just turned over 100,000 miles and is modded a little bit, SSD Intake Kit w/K&N filter, 180 deg thermostat, and cat-back exhaust.....Is this about average mileage?

Hard to say what kind of mileage you should be expecting. There are a lot of variables to start with and then you add on the small tweaks you have performed and the mileage expectations get hazy.
FWIW, you are also getting less miles per gallon running premium gasoline than you would if you were running 87 octane. The higher the octane rating, the less MPG.

2004 Edge 3.0.
I have a 2004 3.0 stick 4:10 gears Edge. I am geetting 18.5 constantly, I'v gotten 20 a few times. I was hoping to get 25 on the highway. This truck only has 6000 miles on it. I am an old guy and don't like to shift and only use 2nd and 4th gear I skip the rest. If I need to get more zip out of it I go from 1st to 3rd and then 5th. I did'nt think it was doing that well. I don't like this old engine, I wanted the new engine. If this thing got 8 to 14 mpg. I would drive it into the river. (no power and bad milage) Have fun, Dave

I check and replace my spark plugs about every 50,000 miles or so. The ones I just pulled out were pretty bad. All the gaps were a minimum .12 out of gap. The worst was .22 out of gap. And of course, whenever I change plugs, its habit to replace the wires too. In your 3.0, I would personally recommend using either autolite or motorcraft (made by honeywell.....autolite is a subsiderary of honeywell too) double platinum plugs in your engine.

They say you should be able to get 100K miles before needing a tune up..well at 60K i replaced mine and they were well worn..now i got 135K on my Ranger ..think it's time to do it again
Gas mileage on my 96 Ranger..I can get about 310 miles out of a full tank of gas(93 octane) ..that's mostly HWY mileage with 1/4 of that being city driving.
