Update
I did not have a base line on fuel mileage prior to Diabllo install. Currently the truck (SCAB 4x4, 373 Lariat) is between 16 and high 17's. It only has 3700 miles so it isn't driven regularly enough to get the better numbers. So far, nothing into the 18's. Truck really runs good. Bought this after driving Chevys for years. So far I am really pleased. Chevy truck had Hypertech tune in it when it was destroyed by hurricane Frances, along with Corvette, daily driver, not to mention the home. Called Hypertech, told my story, I wanted to return programmer to be reset for reuse or sale. They said NO, I repeated the story, they said NO. So now I say NO to Hpertech and bought Diablo. It was true at one time they had trouble keeping up with the Ford reprograming, may still havesome little bit of problem. But they certainly helped me with mine, especialy a technician named Dan. I am just a sucker for any company that goes to such extremes to help out a customer, quite the opposite of Hypertech. Hope this will help, sorry for the book.

I have the Diablo in my 4.6 with 3.55 gears. I drove it with the 87 tune for a tank and got about 1 mpg more out of it. The truck feels much better with this tune. I've only driven about a half a tank with the 91 tune now but most of that was towing a 5000 lbs boat so I can't comment on the milage but it sure towed better. I downloaded the latest tune yesterday and it's a big improvement. I can actually spin my tires which is saying a lot since the are 295/70r17's. I'm a huge fan of the Diable now.

The one thing that nobody seems to mention is that with the Diablo tuner, most of the modifications are at Wide Open Throttle. So at normal driving, I actually get better gas mileage than when it was stock. When you "put the pedal to the metal", you will definitely feel ALL of the benefits. I used the performance settings from the first time I insatalled the Diablo program, so I can't speak for the 89 octane settings. I have the 5.4 3v in my Lariat super crew with 3.73 gears.
NOTE: watch out for the crosswalk paint when driving on wet roads... I almost lost it making a left turn, and I wasn't even getting on the throttle hard!
