Question Driver window freezing

My truck sits out all the time so the wife gets the garage. My problem is that if it is cold out below freezing, doesn't matter if it has recently rained or snowed the windows on my truck seem to freeze to the felt strip on the outside and until the truck is warmed up they won't go down. Has anyone else had this happen and was there a solution or is this just another design flaw from Ford?

I've never had this happen on any other vehichle...my 95 buick park ave, which sits out right next to my truck never has this problem and it's my daily driver with twice the miles.

Yeah, seems to be a weakness. I have a Park Avenue, too (97 Ultra), which also sits outside and does not have the problem, at least to the extent that the windows lock up. Maybe the motor is stronger or the freeze area smaller.

I'll probably put some silicone spray on the weatherstripping when I get the chance.

mhamric, my 97 driver's side will not go down without help from me in the cold. It does not stick to the felt, will go down verrrry slow if at all until I help it along. Goes up fine. I've read numerous threads on this topic and no real fixes. even heard of one that had the dealer replace the motor and did the same thing. Boggling. The passenger works fine, same as the others I've read.....I just deal with it through the winter.

I have the same problem...a little WD 40 on the front and rear tracks do wonders on the window going up and down. Mine freezes too. A little deicer seems to work well, but why does the window need to go down until it warms up a bit anyway? If it's that cold outside, I am usually going to have the window up.
