how do you fix power door locks
I have a 1991 Bronco with factory power door locks. I bought the vehicle used and the locks weren't working. The fuse is good. A mechanic during an oil change told me to replace the actuator. I bought a ford replacement actuator, but when I plugged it in to test it, nothing happened. If the switch was good I assumed that the actuator would have "fired", but it didn't. I didn't want to go throught the hassel of replacing the actuator if there could be another issue that I should check first. It's a tight dark hole at the bottom of the door panel where the actuator connects! Is there a relay or wiring harness that I should check - something that crosses/ relays between the two doors (neither power door lock works)? Where is it located? Where can I find a wiring diagram? A circuit tester showed that power was at the lock button in the panel (the circuit tester light came on when I depressed the lock button), but the tester would not "light up" when trying to test where the actuator plugs into. That is why I figured there must be a bad relay from the lock button to the actuator. Please help. Thanks in advance!!

The power for the door locks feeds from the passenger side to the driver's side. Check the wiring and switch assembly on the passenger side first. The power feed wire is black with a white trace. If the passenger side switch is bad or not fully seated in the assembly, it may not allow power through at all.
