Just a Worn out Motor or what?

82 F-150, 302 2bbl carb aod. When its cold it runs like a champ, pulls strong. once it gets warm its bogging and generally doesn't want to move out of its own way. Once it gets warm the trans slips and doesn't want to engage until you get into it a little then it jerks and shudders until it gets up to speed (15-20)mph. the truck has a small amount of blowby, not anything that would indicate a severly worn engine. its got about 98k on the engine, non original miles because its been rebuilt before. I'm not sure on the internals of the engine. Could someone offer me some help here? i'm about over this truck!

Desperado

two things first it sounds like the tranny is the major problem if its slipping the motor wont cause that as far as the motor goes do a compression check see what the compression is that will tell you the big story also check the vaccum pressure and make sure it is good it is also a good inddication of a healthy motor or a worn out.. see what comes of that and also wqhich tranny is it... it sure sounds like a AOD LOL
keep us posted buddy

The motor has never really had much vacuum(sp). Doesn't even pull enough to open the selector door for the heater. That much i do know. I've always thought the low vaccum was due to the cam thats in it, i have no specs on it because the motor was done 2 trucks ago and before i got ahold of it. The truck idles well but has a slight miss which i suspect is time for new plugs and wires.

This AOD has been in this truck before with a different 302. It was really sluggish and doggy with the other engine too, finally when i pulled the other engine it had several broken pistons (holes or cracked.) The other engine was never ran hard but my engine is starting to show the characteristics of it. There were no valves missing from the heads so i dunno how this happend. I just want to make sure it doesn't happen again!
