I have a question, any help would be appreciated.I have an 84 F150 with a worn out 300 six with a 4speed manual trans.and am going to swap it with a 302 from a 92 F150 with an auto trans.other than needing a new intake and distributor ,as im doing away with the fuel injection,Will i need any special kits or will it bolt up?Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this .Dion

Hey Dion and welcome to FTE.

Things you will need to do include:
1) Motor mounts and frame brackets (also called towers or perches). Can be gotten from Ford dealer but much cheaper at a junkyard. These mount BEHIND the crossmember, not on top like the ones for the six. A member here named Swirk has a great picture of the way these look in his gallery, check him out. The right side is a straight bolt on (grade 8 bolts), the left (driver's side) will have two rivets on the crossmember that will be in the way. I've heard of cutting them off but I reamed out the corresponding holes in the frame bracket to fit over the rivets. This still leaves 4 holes to mount this bracket to the frame.
2) Radiator. Inlet for a 302 radiator is on the opposite side from the six radiator.
3) Get all the accessory brackets and pulleys that you can with the 302, nearly none of the ones off the six will work without some inventive reworking.
4) Exhaust will have to be redone, but you probably already figured that out for yourself.

Just a heads up, but the flexplate in your auto tranny won't work with the 302 so don't mix them up. As long as you don't seperate motor from tranny you'll be fine.

Good luck,
Ron

Hmmmmmmm just reread my post and the tranny info was way off. (Pay attention Ron). What it should have said was the flywheel in the manual tranny won't work in place of the flexplate in the auto. The bellhousing for both trannies is the same. Since you're keeping the auto with the 302 you won't have any problems anyway. Sorry for the confusion.
