hi my truck od light is flashing i got a code 26 on my scanner wich is mass air flow out of range or trans temp to high im surer it cant be maf because my truck doesnt have one or i at least dont think it does second i know the trans isnt getting hot because sometimes it eill happen in like 1-2 minutes of driving it has always shifted hard it seems to shift the same when light is flashing just sometimes when flashing 1-2 shift is late any ideas im trying to fix everything at once heads are coming off sat to fix valve guides any ideas thanks chris

 

If your truck is a '93, bring the question on over to the pre-powerstroke forum.

As for code 26, are you sure it is a code 26?
Is the ac/ heater blower moto r off during the test?
Does the code appear on the koeo test or is it in the cm (continous memory) portion of the test?

Could also be the TOT sensor is out of range.

 

Sound like the Vehicle speed sensor,mounted in the rear axle, causes the line pressure of the tranny to go real high causing hard shifts.
