2001 Explorer Sport 4.0 SOHC Rough Idle
I have a 2001 Explorer Sport 4.0 SOHC with 62000 mi. on it. When I press on the accelerator with the vehicle in park, it will start to idle very rough above 3200 rpm (cannot get above 3200). This happens if the engine is cold or warmed up. It doesn't seem to cut out and drives OK. I have replaced the spark plugs, but this didn't correct the problem. Not sure if this is a sensor, plugged injectors, etc.. Any help would be appreciated.

limiter
Your truck should have a rev limiter on it to prevent blowing the thing up when not driving and in park. I know this reply is late, but I just joined and seen this post, so I thought I would reply. It sounds to me that your truck is running just the way it is designed to do. I think the plugs or what ever you replaced was a bit of a loss, but on the same hand, new parts never hurt, right?
