Provides security for accessing the spare tire winch. Without it, anybody could drop your spare and it would be weeks before you realized it.

I think if you drive with keyhole removed you get better gas mileage and it almost eliminates any vibration you may have.. Ford will not put a TBS out on this??

You're welcome. I've been stationed here for over 8 years. Trying to go somewhere else. Thanks for your support!

Actually what I did is I removed the lock for the better gas mileage / vibration elimination, and I also lowered the spare tire about 6 inches to act as a "spoiler". I have noticed better control at excessive speed as well as a nice improvement in 0-60 times.

I have actually found a way to get more HP by using the 12v powerpoint from the back seat. I have an inverter inside the cab with an extension cord going out the rear slider to the bed. In the bed, I bolted a 18inch house fan and plugged it in. The fan provides about 5-7 hp on low, 8-15 on medium and almost 20 on high. The fan is also able to help with braking by reversing the direction of the blades (sort of like a jet plane).
