OEM Satellite radio in Excursion or S/D
I currently use an aftermarket Sony unit for my satellite reciever in my 02 X. I've heard that there is a way to install one of the new sat-ready radios in an X but haven't seen it. I would plan to add either the OEM Ford reciever or one from Terk.
This would be one of the units that come in an Expedition Navigator or similar. It looks like the use screws versus the spring clips to mount in an 150 or Expedition but the unit is the same physical size. Connections also appeared to be the same. Looks like the 05 SD used the screw mounting system now too.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Satellite Radio
Nailerdog,
I have been looking at getting SAT radio for sometime now. I have finally settled on the Roady II by Sirius. It has an RF transmitter that doesn't require any physical hookups. It will send the signal to an unused radio freq. Pretty slick. I have the stock radio w/ CD and changer. I didn't want to tear the dash apart installing an aftermarket radio....so this seems to fit the bill. Hope this helps.

I looked into this as well just a couple of weeks ago, and what I was told is NO, it won't work. I checked with the dealership & with a company that sells the stock OEM satellite radios. Supposedly the wiring harness is completely different in the vehicles with the OEM sat. radio and that is why it is only offered in select vehicles currently.
