42-47 Big School Bus Cowl on 40 1/2 Ton Frame

Since it is commonly claimed that a big truck cab can be used on the 1/2 ton chassis, will the 42 to 47 big school bus firewall/cowl/dash unit bolt to a 40 1/2 ton pickup frame and also bolt to the 40 pickup front end sheet metal without modification? I'm attempting to build a 1/2 ton chassis and cowl commercial car that Ford offered in 1940. This is my first posting. When I was 16 back in 1962, I bought a 40 1/2 ton chassis and cab from a used car lot for $75. Thanks.

I would think that maybe the only prob is how a chassis/cowl setup is how the original was supported up front. Since they left the factory w/o much support, they may be beefed up a bit, which could make mounting a little different. I tried to see if an original 1946 Ford School Bus brochure I have shows anything, but it doesn't. Best bet is going to be trying and test fitting it on the frame.
