Antifreeze in oil on 87 Bronco II 2.9 V-6
The oil analysis report showed about 0.7% coolant in the oil which had just 1000 miles on it. We found a coolant leak in a heater hose connection by pressurizing the system, but once this was fixed the pressure held over night with no loss. We got the sparkplugs out and can't get any trace of coolant in the cylinders when we turn it over under pressure. The plugs all look clean. The Bronco always runs great. So Guys, is there any way the coolant could get in the oil due to the heater hose leak spraying coolant on top the engine while running? Or any other suggestions appreciated on this problem. Right now we're thinking about just adding "stop-leak" to the coolant and having the oil analyzed at each 3000 mile change. But I would sure like to know where the leak could be.

Well sounds like theres not much Antifreez in your oil.... so i probly wouldnt worry about it, but the 2.9L are "VERY" bad for blowing head gaskets, and or cracked cylinder heads. Its more then likley a small problem thats going to get bigger, but keep an eye on it as it might be nothing, and no as far as i know thers no way for the antifreez to get oil in it unless the oil cap was left off.... but id keep an eye on it
Hope this helped
