Mud runs at MT Sterling, Ia Sept 4th
For those interested, I saw a poster for the boys playing in the mud pits next Sat at Squito Field. Registration starts at 1030, runs start at 1. !5 entry fee, 3 admission. I don't know a lot about it, they are straight runs, but I don't know classes or anything, I think it's more a local boy thing. Should go up and check it out, do some recruiting... I can ask step bro in law about it if you want more info, he goes with his neighbor and their Ford powered Jeep.

Of coarse I will be asking, heck I already looked up the directions on trip maker to get there-101 miles from here thats not too bad, and since I won't have to work on monday, I can race both days, although I have never had this truck in bogs before so don't know how well it would do. but gotta race

I don't think they get real serious, but the cost isn't bad all the same. The track is sout of town, can't see it from the highway. After you turn the 25 mph turn on the bottom af the steep hill( it follows the 45 mph corner, you were warned!!!) there will be a gravel on your right, take it and it will take you right to the race area. No bleachers, so come prepared accordingly, and I don't know as there is any concessions either.

you are talking about coming in from the south I assume, so in my case I would have to go through town, and turn left on the gravel just before it turn back into a 45mph zone?
And any other info on it would be nice to know if you can possibly find out. I may just have to give this a try, and find out for sure wether it is bogs or drags I might drag a couple of other guys along just for the fun of it.

No I was assuming you coming from the north... You won't actually get into town, it is just over the hill from the gravel you will turn on. I practically have the route memorized, as that's the way I go to Marengo every other week... By the way, the state map shows the road going to Luray, Mo from Mt Sterling as straight, ,it isn't, the gravel road I am referring to is the road shown straight on all the maps... after the Squito field, there is a 90 degree turn and t intersection that takes you to the border and the never straight Missouri roads.

That sound like a whole lotta chances to break something and not by me with a regular race on sun maybe I better pass expecially with the beer drinking going on, wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to race the next day at my regular place. but hate to go down, and break something, and not have time to get it fixed.

I'm a couple of days away from getting my rig on the road with the restored bed. I think I'll have to pass on this one but should be ready to begin touring in a couple weeks. I want to put some progressive mileage trips on the truck before taking on a 200+ mile round trip. Not that I don't think it would handle it, but you just never know and why take the chance!
Keep us all posted on the mud run and take a bunch of pictures!
Oh, and if the Iowa chapter would like a website to post pictures etc, let me know as I run a private ISP here in Cedar Falls and have a couple web servers ready.
