I have a '91 Explorer that is leaking coolant, but I cant tell where it's coming from. The water pump was leaking, so I replaced it & both radiator hoses, heater hoses, & thermostat. Now it's leaking somewhere toward the back of the engine compartment, passenger side. From underneath, it runs down the oil filter. Could this have something to do with the heater core? There isnt any coolant leaking inside the passenger compartment.
Your heater core has A plastic cover around it and if your core leaks it will divert the coolant in that area.So look for A small plastic pipe sticking out just under the heater motor housing on the firewall.
i had the same thing so i bought some of that allumnaseal stuff for it. it tells you how do use it. let it stay in your system for awhile then flush it after like a week or two.
