Someone else then brought up forced induction, and I mentioned that several turbo cars made more, such as the late eagle talon 2.0L (4G63 mitsu), at 105 hp/liter.

You're defniitely correct about that. I used that analogy because that's the only HP figure I came up with for old carburated V8s. I realize there is much more than HP, but the point still remains that the old V8s were nowhere near as efficient as today's fuel-injected engines. I read somewhere that sometimes the mixture was so rich on some of the carbureted engines that you could ignite the exhaust! A carbureted engine will never retain a perfect mixture, and unless it's tuned often, it won't come close.

And, if turbo engines get into it, I believe the second gen eagle talon had 210 horses from a 2.0L 4G63, which would be 105 hp/liter.
Those people need to get their facts straight.

Hmmmm...... These people need to get their facts straight? Both cars you mentioned were made by MITSUBISHI, not DC.

Man , you get Smileage with that combo !

Never TOO MUCH POWER !!
same as my old Boss 9 in my truck ....
Ford best up their Lightning if this makes it to the truck line ... this motor would be great in the Ram Rumble Bee truck ...

yes , Ford had 2 V8 Hemis ...
the 427 "Cammer" and the Boss 429 ....
I ran a Boss 9 in a truck , truly wicked ....
I'm building another for my 78 F150 , but , if Ford has a 6.2 DOHC crate motor in the works (I'm looking real hard at the 5.0 DOHC crate motor , cheaper than a Boss9 to build
hmmmmmmmmmmm,....
