'99 Taurus SE semi-automatic climate control problem
Gentlemen, I really need your assistance.
My '99 Taurus has the semi automatic climate control system in it. Simply hit the button for the desire temp and it happens.
Two weeks ago I was running the a/c and all was fine. The next week it came off cool and I used the heat, kept it at 72 degrees.
Last week it warmed up again and I selected the max a/c and it never cooled off. In fact, it got down right hot. I got home and selected max a/c again and popped the hood and the compressor is running and the condenser is sweating but I'm only getting "heater core" heat.
So, I lower the temp and I'm unable to regulate the amount of heat that I'm getting. When I lower or raise the temp, the fan speed automatically increases as it normally would if all was functioning properly.
I'm hoping that it's the switch inside the dash pod not telling everything what to do. But, I'm fearful that it's more involved than that.
Any and all speculation and expert opinions and advice are more than welcome.
Thanks,
Tim
