blowin the fuse

for any of you out there that are gifted in wiring ive got a bit of a problem. i am blowing the fuse to my turn signals, so i installed a new turn signal switch. im still blowing the fuse and have no idea where to look. i have checked to see if there are any exposed or broken wires and couldnt find any, unless i missed it somewhere. any suggestions or ideas?

Sounds like one of your hot leads is grounding out.

There may be a better way, but I'd go to each turn signal bulb, pull the bulb. Use a volt meter (continuity checker) to see which lamp hot connection shorts to ground. Once you find the bulb, follow the wire back until you find the short. I assume it only blows the fuse after you turn on a blinker.

the hot should be in the bottom center of the bulb holder, the outside will be the ground.

hope that helps...

Also check your wiring under the truck. Especially the wire to the rear. If you replace the fuse with a small test lamp, a short will cause it to light brightly. (saves fuses while you trouble-shoot)
