personally id never put a body lift on a vehicle. if you do dont do more than what is need to get whatever size tires you want. i saw one with a 2 in and it looked allright.

body lifts are pretty inexpensive... for a older 70's model ford expect to pay 80$... tehy go up to maybe 3 inches....u can get lift by just adding blocks on top of your front adn rear axles and that would be sufficent if all your looking for is stance.
Hope that helps ya out.

Homer in most states the highest you can legally go is 3 inches. Thats also the tallest bodylift any manufacturer makes that I know of. On your truck you could crank up the torsion bar adjusters in the front and use an add-a-leaf in the rear to gain about 1-1.5 inches. Cranking up the bars will make your front end ride stiffer as the higher you crank them the less downtravel your suspension has. You will also need a frontend alignment if you crank the bars up. Also if you add larger tires ( I'm guessing thats why you want to lift it ) you should really get some aftermarket shocks too. Your stock shocks are probably a little worn and larger heavier tires aren't gonna make them any better. Even new stock shocks aren't really up to controlling larger then stock tires. If you go with the bodylift spend the money and buy a kit, don't try to make your own. Not only are the blocks in kits much safer then homemade wooden blocks or stacked hockey pucks but kits usually also include all the little brackets and bolts you need to really do a nice job.

Don't know about any larger aftermarket tires for 17s. I am sure they are out there but I have never had 17s so I have never really looked.

To bad you don't have aluminum mags, they give the truck a more sporter look. As for the goodyears, What kind are they?. I have P255 75R16 All terian Liberators on mine. doesn't look to shabby at stock height. Ofcourse I can only hit 97 as opposed to the regular street tires that were on it before, at 101mph.
