Maybe they're not selling so good afterall....I just checked Ford's website. Under the Great National Offer heading is says Ford is offering through 8/8/04 a $1500 rebate or 1.9% 36 month financing on 2004 6.0L PSD SDs. That's nationwide. The gas SD's are offering a $2500 rebate or 0% financing for 36 months!

I will say however that the dealers won't go much past rebate on the 6.0L's...Maybe I'll wait for the 2005's and see what comes up then.

I dont think much of anything with a price tag of close to 40 grand is selling good right now, I dont care what it is... Trucks, cars, etc., anything. My truck sold new in '99 for right at $30,000. I fail to see how these trucks have gone up close to 10 thousand dollars in price in 5 years. I bought mine used in '02 for $16,900 with 90,000 babied highway miles on it. Right now in my area, you are lucky to find one for less than $20,000 with 100,000 miles on it, gas or diesel, that hasnt been run into the ground. ALL the car dealerships, not just Ford, in my area have some kind of incentives on just about every car on their lots, from compact cars to full size trucks.

Actually it is not what you said but whatever, It's getting old with the diesel's are holier than thou. The Diesels have rebates as well, so dont give me this, they have to put rebates on the v-10's cause nobody buys them

I've spent spent the last 3 weeks running trailers for a freinds shop going back and forth. my V10 crew 3.73 4aod tranny 4x4 and his 03 duramax with the allison tranny 4x4, I'm unshure of the gearing. Towing any thing from bummper pull aluminium stock trailers to 45 ' LQ's with each. Hills, Back roads, and Highway, (DC beltway).
I have to say the allison tranny rocks! awsome control, haven't felt that in control without a stick ever. The duamax is stock so I like the v 10 off the line, no waiting for the turbo to spool.
at 6'1" and 200lbs. I like the Ford Crew cab over the Chevy more space for me and each has capt. chairs. although the chevy is well layed out.
On back to back runs with comparable trailers out and empty back mileage was better with the d.max, BUT only by .5 miles over th same 100 mile +/- run. Same, traffic conditions, weather, speeds, tolls, stops and each filled at the same gas station. and the same heavy footed fool at the wheel.
Only difference, d.max is dually and geared lower than 3.73. My F350 is SRW
I like the 3.73 for the highway and Have not felt as if it has ever held the V10 back and rolls nicely with the 10,000# to 13,000# I tow personaly. I find myself kicking it out of OD. as a form of down shifting after adjusting to the allison.
I found the d.max seams to spends alot of time at 3000rpm with me (redline about 3300) the v10 also spends alot of time around 3000 rpm
Each truck is a powerhouse in its own right and could pull a house of its foundation. I like my v10, personal preferance, But that tranny would get me thinking if I could get comfortable in the chevy. It is a big truck but I feel squished in the driver seat.
I'm not to hot on the chevy IFS. made the truck feel like my Isuzu Rodeo (IFS torsion bar) in the front

Just my observations and How I have tried to interpet them and compare

Not that it matters, but the Duramax is not a domestic diesel. It's Japanese. Now, in some circles that might be a plus, in others and big negative. I am for whatever you like.

I like (love my V-10) and my 5.4 too!

I know that and I didn't mean it as an argument. Just wanted to let you know that Ford is offering some rebate/incentive to help move their remaining 2004 PSDs.
