Camaro/MonteCarlo Clip 55 F100

I've read articles posted here before about IFS choice but I want to make sure about the years of choice because I think I've heard of . Are 74-81 the years of choice for the Camaro clip. What about the Monte Carlo? Is that generally the same as the Camaro clip? I have a line on an 80 Camaro Clip for $300 then I ran across a complete 78 Monte Carlo for $100. Thanks, Jerry

Jerry,
The Camaro/Firebird clips from 70-81 are the one's you want. I don't know for sure, but is the Monte Carlo a "rear steer" (steering box behind the wheel centerline) or "front steer" unit? If it is a front steer, then I don't see any problems as it is probably very similar to the Camaro clip.
Good Luck,
Kent

Check the brakes. I am almost certain you are going to get larger brakes with the Camaro. Rotors, calipers and pads are built for a heavy car. I know for sure the 78 Malibu uses the downsized brakes.

'fenders has a good point. I think you get bigger brakes (11" I think) with the F-bodies and smaller ones on the other cars.
Good Luck!
