Windshield wipers

Does anyone know what is involved in rebuilding a vacuum wiper system of is there an easy way to convert it to electric? Thanks

I dont personally know about rebuilding a vacum system but you can buy them for a hefty price. Sometimes there are ones on e-bay that are supposed to work. However you can convert them to electric many ways but if you want a direct bolt in you could always try places like Sacramento Vintage and places of that sort.

Motorhaven here on FTE, Sac Vin Ford, Bob's F-100's in Riverside, or John's F-Fun Hudreds in Anaheim should have an electric motor. Wiring is pretty straight forward. You'll need a new wiper switch for the dashboard. Make SURE the switch is made for the wiper motor you get. Conflicting wiring directions can cause unnecessary delays in the install. I'd also go for a "off-low-high" switch and avoid a switch with the "intermittent" function. Didn't work out for me, anyway... but maybe you'll have better luck should you decide to go with a switch that has the intermittent function.

Good luck,
DS
