Supercharger Belt Slip

Supercharger Belt Slip
Hello; thanks for providing this forum.
Here's my question: 2000 Lightning with the upper and lower pulley modification. I'm getting belt slip- particularly on 1-2 shift RPM change and 2-3 RPM change with the shift.
Anyone have some special tricks or secrets to avoid the belt slip? There seems to be some after market pulley/tensioner systems which are rather pricey; are they worth the dough or just another unproven mod. that wastes cash?
Thanks, Performancenut
