that is just a crossmember on the frame no big deal it is stronger the way it is welded through the frame instead of inside the frame plugging the hole wont do any harm just someones way of making money

If you look at the frame there are holes all over not just that one .Some holes are put into the frame for crush zones in an accident.

The holes are also used to anchor the truck to the train and semi trailer during shipment.

Some holes may be lightening holes. They save weight, used extensively in aircraft.

heheh... dude probably found some drain stoppers at home depot for $1.95 and now he's selling them as frame plugs for the F-150 at $5.95.

That was exactly what I thought when I first saw them months ago I'm think that if that tube was plugged, it would probably promote rusting inside, so I'm just letting it breathe
