i have this engine and i am confused as to whether it is a 428... or a 429..
i have 3 sets of numbers they are as follows..manifold-T311 417... D2TE 9430AA or 8430AA cant read them very well.
Also..Head.. D3TE0425 AIA or D3T80425 AIA
I hope some one can drop me an e- mail or something and let me know...

Two different engine families which are easy to distinguish, but it sounds like a 429.
If the motor has the intake manifold extending about an inch under the valve covers and the plugs are angled like \\ //, then that motor is of the FE engine family (could be a 352 to a 428).
If the motor is fairly large across the top, the valve covers are flat and the water neck is into the block rather than the manifold, then you possibly have a "385" series motor. Check into the other forums in the group for the specifics to determine what displacement you may have, they all look the same from the outside....
