timing at elevation
Nik, that sounds like ProSeth's truck. Did you buy it from our friend with mud in his blood and rocks in his head ? Yeah, you can move the dizzzy ahead a little to compensate for the thinner air. I don't usually use a light when setting timming, because the stock specs were written for gasoline as it was blended in the 70s, and are intended for a stock engine. Everything is changed from then, so set it where it runs well, and don't worry about the numbers. Just remember to put it back where you started when you go back down towards sea level. DF

Oy, I see you followed my advice and logged into FTE. Great! Yea, I sold one of my trucks to Nikwav a couple of months ago. He flew out to buy it from Colorado sight unseen, bought it and drove it straight back to Colorado. Your at 7500 elevation!? Not only will the timing have to be adjusted but also the fuel/air mixture. It was dialed in at sea level which is where I'm at. Can't think what the rubber plug in the aeromotive fuel regulator might be that your talking about
Anyways, your welcome to e-mail me with any questions you have as well, I know that engine fairly intimatly
