Wow!

Looks like a lot of material was removed to my untrained and inexperienced eye; what are you matching these to? It would be interesting to get before and after flow bench numbers.

Good work!

Just curious...Is that just a port flange to the headers or are you going to flow the Cut you made with the mill back into the port in the head to make it a smooth transition? _Russ

You're really close to hitting water on those port floors.

Sean, do you have Bob Sprowl's web address where he cut up those heads so he can see the cross sections?

port matching

Winchester, what are you trying to match the heads to ? Most guys, when porting the floor of the intakes ( or the exhausts ) remove as little material as possible, just cutting away enough to make sure the flow is smooth. Lots of my intake ports on my C8s and D2TEs have no material ground out of the floors, I used a sanding roll to polish it smooth and left it at that. What your doing with the mill looks great up on the top of the ports. Do some blending with a hand grinder and they'll be wonderfull. But the floors are low enough to have me concerned. What is your goal here ? DF

Sorry guys I guess I should have explained myself a little more. That head I did was a junk head and I was just playing to see if the mill would do the trick. I by no means intend to take off that much material. I did cut throught those ports to see how close the water jacket was. Still had a ways to go. FYI I remove about 1/2" from the slope on that test.....

I'll post my actual pics from my real heads once I get them done...
