i have a 55 that im getting ready to take out this spring on the road. i need to know what the truck has to have that was stock when it was made. im looking fora site or book on what the truck needs to pass an inspection. i guess it does not need a cat in the exhaust, seat belts things of that nature.Thanks for your help

 

Most of what you need to pass a safety inspection is going to be determined by your own local inspection laws. Here in NH, they check all lights, windshield wiper operation and condition, horn, tire condition, exhaust system, brakes (they actually pull your wheels off and look at the linings), and turn signals (if they came with or you added them). If it came with any polution control stuff they just check to see that it hasn't been removed but that would not be a concern with a 55 and neither would seat belts, but it's a good idea to have them. Some municipalities may be more or less stringent. Check with your local state inspection facility...
