Worst president in history???
Worst president in history?
> > >
The following appeared in the Durham, NC local paper as a letter to
the editor. This will put things in perspective:
Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war. They
complain about his prosecution of it. One liberal recently claimed
Bush was the worst president in U.S. history. Let's clear up one point: We
didn't start the war on terror. Try to remember, it was started by terrorists BEFORE 9/11. Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement
claims:
> > >
FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.
> >
Truman finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never
attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of
18,333 per year.
> > >
John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never
attacked us.
> > >
Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives
were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
> > >
Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia
never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter
three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple
occasions.
> > >
In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated
two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear
inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and
captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We
lost 600 soldiers. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another
terrorist attack at home. Worst president in history? Come on!
> > >
The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking,
but... It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the
Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.
> > >
We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less
time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing
records.
> > >
It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to
destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the
police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in
Florida!!!!

He or she has not been elected yet.......................history is so long, a little food for thought. As most if not all of you know I am NONE political on FTE, this is fun to read. THAT IS ALL
At about the time our original 13 states adopted a new constitution in
1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of
Edinborough, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.
A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover
that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.
>From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
>From bondage to spiritual faith; From faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; >From dependence back into bondage."
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul,
Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the most recent Presidential election:
Population of counties won:
by Gore, 127 million;
by Bush, 143 million;
Square miles of land won:
by Gore, 580,000;
by Bush, 2,427,000;
States won:
by Gore, 19;
by Bush, 29;
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won:
by Gore, 13.2;
by Bush, 2.1.
Professor Olson adds, "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was (mostly) the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country, Gore's territory encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare..."
Olson believes the U.S.is now somewhere between the "apathy" and the
"complacency" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy; with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

............Iraq was a TOTALLY ...optional War. It, has also managed to antagonize and Polarize every Camel Racer thruout the Arabian Peninsula and they are ALL willing to die for Allah because they think that when they arrive at the gate to the Big Tent in the sky and met by Mustafah the gate keeper that they will get to live in their own Condo with 40 virgins and a flying carpet that never runs out of petrol.
...........Putting the necessity argument aside, the Deficit that is attributable directly to Herr Bush's war is going to take years to pay down. The other (2) factors that are going to be adversely affected by the deficit are(1)the inability to adequately fund both Social Security in future years and the impending Medicare Drug benefit just enacted and coming online in '06, and (2) the obvious necessity to initiate capitol improvements in both roads and infrastructure especially when the threat of future attacks is a constant source of funds for the country as whole.
...........Some of the largest and most expensive military armament programs are going to be curtailed rather drastically starting in 06' as Politicans just don't have the nads to tell the old Geezers that they can't fund their drug entitlement program.........it's going to be very interesting watching our legislators trying to pay the Bills with funds they don't have......s.kuteman

I thought the Tricky Dick Nixon wing of the Ike team gave the big push to help the French with advisors in VietNam in 1958, and wasn't Nixon Pres 1968-1975? Electorial votes are a poor way to demarcate and divide the population of this country, as to taxpayer or tax taker, private or public land dwellers, do you really think all those taxpayer funded G.I.'s living in public housing voted Gore? Seems a silly waste of sombodies time, who employed this Professor? Any tax dollars in his paycheck? If so, he must have voted Gore if all private funded position, he voted Bush, so simple it just doesn't seem relavant.

Well let see here we are in a war that only we so called apporved of. The UN did not back us Bush said Iraq is over weapons of mass distruction. That was unfounded. So they changed there tune to cover there tracks by saying Iraqy freedom. Bush is profiting off the oil that is why we are paying so much at the pumps. Ok now Bush said he was going to create jobs well he did by calling fastfood places manufacthering jobs you see the jobs where already there and he just change the title wow how inventive. We did not finsh Bin Ladin yet that should have been done a long time ago. I don,t think we had a good president since Carter. (IMO) Now for Clinton the Waco Texas mess is all messed up and not to talk about Ruby ridge. I do not care to hear about his affair under his desk that is peanuts compared to what else has been going on. As far as I am conserned this world is so messed up we will never bale out of it in a good mater.(IMO)
