Smile Simple (not pretty) Delphi XM Radio Install

I installed the Delphi XM Satellite radio on in the rectangular tray on the dash. I used a 6x8x1/4" fiberboard sheet with a short 3x4 screwed upright as a post in the center. I drilled 4 holes in the Delphi mount and screwed it to the post. Painted it all flat black so it sort of matches. I ordered my xlt with the cassette radio so I could use the cassette adapter. The unit is powered from the accessory jack on the dash.

The xm antenna is on the roof just in front of the high taillight. I ran the antenna wire from the roof under the taillight across the headliner and down the passenger side door moulding. From there it runs under the floor door moulding to the front carpet and under the carpet to up under the glove box door. It comes out of the dash just above the glove box door. I put all the exposed wires into coiled conduit to make it a bit neater.

It sounds fine and so far, road bumps have not disturbed the radio as it sits on the dash. If that happens, I will double stick tape it down.

Pictures in my gallery. Not the most cosmetic but no dash opening, easy install if you have the cassette radio!
