Thumbs up XM Installation in 2004 Lariat

Finished installing my SkiFi this morning. Took about 2 hours start to finish. I found the various posts about previous installations here invaluable. Thanks to all to have previously posted their installation instructions and photos.
I placed some photos in my gallery in case my installation helps someone else.

I used the Pro-Fit VSM Legend Mount. The Pro-Fit mount vibrates when the door is slammed or driving down the road a bit but it's not bad enough for me to want a different solution.

I was using the cassette adapter in my previous installation in an Expedition... used the wired Delphi FM modulator this time. I can't tell much a difference in sound quality. Bit of a pain to have to turn the SkiFi on and set the radio to 87.9 instead if simply pressing the Tape button, but the fact that I was able to use the 6v from the FM modulator and not have to take up a power adapter makes for a cleaner install.

Mounted the antenna on the back of the roof. Routed the cable down through the nigh mount center stop light and down under the headliner as others have done. Made a very nice solution.

Nice

I really would have preferred to mount my SkiFi on the left side of the dash as you did Shane but the 4x4 switch would be blocked and mounting it lower placed it too close to my nee when driving. Your install looks nice though. How did you route the power, audio and antenna cables?

I pulled out that coin drop and mounted the XM from behind the dash through that opening. All the cables come through the opening behind the SkiFi. The FM modulator is mounted to the inside of the dash panel above the glove compartment.
