2.9 oil sending unit location
My ojil pressure gauge is acting funny (I hope)
When I start my ranger the oil pressure reads in the middle of normal. When driving oil pressure is fine; however if I stop or brake the oil pressure gauge goes to zero. If I rev the motor the gauge reads normal at idle. If I have a problem with oijl pressure, at idle it should go to zero and not half a loaf on the gauge. Have had the truck run for some time at idle--if oil pressure was as low as the gauge indicates, I think I would have heard the valves clap or other engine noise?
Hope that it is electrical.
In the meantime, can anyone tell me where the ssending unit is for the oil sending unit. Is it by the filter?? It is still cold here and I want to spend as little time on my back as possible.
I know mechancial gauge is probably the way to go, has anyone had good luck with an electric sending unit gauge??
