Have resently got a F250 year 2000 Engine: Powerstroke 7,3 diesel.
When the engine is started a blowing sound is coming from the exhaust periodically. When you starts to drive at low speed the engine is throttled also periodically and the sound is heard again.
It is very irritating
When the engine reach its normal operation temperature the problem disappeares.
I can see a linkage in the turbo outlet is moving. I believe it must be some kind of a waste gate. But why is it acting like that.

Do someone have a solution to solve this.
What is wrong? and what can be done.

Sounds a lot like the ebpv. Helps your truck warm up, completely normal. Can always disconnect.

From what I have read here, it sounds like your EBPV Exhaust Back Pressure Valve. It is supposed to close when the engine is cold to warm up the truck faster. I unplugged mine.

In which way is it best to disconnect this EBPV device.??
By mechanical blocking or removing the linkage, or jumping some electrical sensor. ?
I believe there must be some kind of device sencing the temperature of the engine.

Do disconnecting the EBPV not have any negative influence, except for longer warm up periode.
Of cause you must go easy with the engine until it has the prober temperature.

I wonder why Ford have made this solution for warm up.

I have now disconnected the plug to the sensor on the turbo charger. Now the engine behaves normal also in cold condition.
