351w

i have a 1990 f150 4x4 w/ a efi 302. i bought the truck w/ 143k
mile on it. i noticed the other night why fixing another problem that the valve train and bootom end is starting to rattle and so on. i been reading here today that a 351w will pretty much bolt right in except for some small changes. i am wanting the replacement motor to not have to rely on any computer or such if possible. what year and make of ford's came with the 351w in them so when i call a junk yard i can ask directed questions? any help will be helpfull thanks.

If you plan on keeping your EFI you need the computer, just get the computer out of the 351 donor vehicle it'll plug in to your current harness.

You will probably have to go older, I'm not sure if the 351w came in the trucks (some will correct me if necessary). You will also need a trans as your curent unit is probably controlled by the computer also. Then there is the issue of emission testing your truck, if that is necessary in your state.
