Help with shocks, Gabriel?

I'm interested in getting new shocks on my 2000 Expy 4x4. I was told that Gabriel makes the Motorcraft OE part for Ford that is put on at the factory. Does anyone know? How are Gabriel shocks? Thanks for the help!

Ford puts on the cheapest shocks they can find. Gabriels are not known for their superior performance, and last about half as long (if that) of a performance shock priced from $40-$60, but they do OK for around-town driving I guess. I just ordered Rancho shocks, and most people on this board swear by their Bilsteins.
Long and short of it is...you get what you pay for!
Take care.

If your budget allows, stick with Rancho, Edelbrock, or Bilstein.
