Heater blower duct cutting on and off.

The blower motor is running the same speed but the heat will go from the floor to behind the dash area and into the defroster back to the floor again several times per minute. I'ts only noticable when the blower is on high.

I'm thinking there is a valve operated by vaccuum that re-directs heat to the floor but it's not working properly.

Has anyone run across this? What was the fix?

Yes, it's either the vacuum hose or the duct door flapping loosely (linkage came off).
