Seat in 65 Ford

What seat does everyone use in there truck. I have a 65 Ford F-250 and the seat is junk. What does everyone else run. It is a bench seat and i would like to try and stick with the bench seat but buckets are a possibility. I would like to try and find the bench with a flip down center console.. but what will fit..thanks

It is my understanding that F150 seats to 96 will work.

I would like to run a split bench with fold down arm rest/console. I understand that you can use 96 or prior and bolt it to your existing 65 frame (that's the key here...) May need some modifying, but will be well worth the effort.

Yup all true! Save the 65 sliders and mount them to the new seat. I use a bench from an 86 F150.

Not sure would stick with 65 bench seat. Suggest at very least trying later model. Was given 68 bench which appears same, but has lot more beef to it. Not installed yet, also looking for better alternative. 'Almost' given up on locating the bucket seats (Ranger Package) for the 65.

If not done so yet, may want to run search. Believe topic brought up before. Simular responses as your thread. Thought member mentioned their using Bronco seat set-up, not sure.

Anyhow, my $02 worth.

Good luck,
dave

Hey Dave, I thought the Ranger package used Mustang seats. Not so? I know the (floor) brackets are hard to find but there was a guy around FTE who reproduced them.

Eric, Was not aware the Mustang seats were use for the 65 Ranger Package. That will help in expanding the search. With any luck, maybe the FTE member who repro. the brackets will read this thread.

The bucket seat option used the "old" bronco seat mounts. I would go with a 68 or newer Mustang seat, they have the safety catch on the bottom and don't flop forward when you hit the brakes....

Luckily, I was able to find a pair of the ranger buckets, but it is the console I cannot find. Was it the same as the falcon? I read it here but do not recall.

I think the console was '64 or '65 Falcon, but I have also heard there was a second type used. You might not want the console, it's not very useful and is awfully difficult to restore. I hope someone finds an original tank cover and mounting hardware and shares templates with us...
