Is Ford going to up 6.0 output??

Has anyone heard any plans or rumors of plans by Ford to up the output of the 6.0??? They were on top with the diesel for about a year, now they are back to the bottom of the pile. Surely more hp and torque can be squeezed from that engine.

They need to concentrate on getting the 325 hp back that most of us thought we were buying!

Great response jorzac having experienced what you are describing I agree 100%.

As for the original question, I've heard rumors of 615 for torque ??? horsepower for I believe the '05 MY but I'm not sure if this has been confirmed. I'm sure their will be some increase but with the continuing problems plaguing these engines I think other mechanical upgrades may take priority.

I would like to see a dyno comparison of my truck new vs. the truck now. Unfortunatley I don't have a run from when the truck was new. Who knows it might be interesting enough just to compare the performance now to the marketed RWHP. Maybe I could sell my truck to Chevy and let them do a little drag strip commercial of their own. LOL.

Someone in another thread on this board said a magazine recently tested the new Duramax vs the 6.0 powerstroke and the Chevy got murdered.

I think a few people got jobbed on the new 6.0's. The vast majority, however, seem to be producing the power advertised as well as having zero problems. I cannot begin to imagine what it's like to be one of the unlucky souls who got a "bad" one, though.

Couldnt be

Seeing as how the new engine has only actuyally been out for what a little over 3 weeks or so, Im am 100% sure that the magazine did not test the new updated MAX when compared to the 6.0. they wouldnt have had an updated engine available to them in the time frame they would have needed in order to test, edit..etc.
