You're Funny! I don't think there are too many street driven Ford trucks that could hang with a Z06(including lightnings). Don't worry about handing him his butt, because the only rearend you're going to see is the Vettes way out in front! As for getting more power from the 5.4 you could get the heads ported, aftermarket cams, headers, and throw on a kenne bell. That should be a good start.

 

just like any vehicle a vette z06 could be beat and abused and now lacking in power bcause it was not taken care of. i'll TAKE MY FORD 5.4 and put it up against a vette.I know the guy who owns it and he has beat it since he bought it,now it's a dog.

This is probably all after the fact, but I think my 5.4 (250sd is heavier than the 150) was strong enough. In 6000 miles of ownership I have done the mac cold air kit and diablo chip. I am going to do exhaust in the next 2 weeks and that should be it. With the chip and cold air kit it is a completely different truck. I would consider the entire vehicle in your comparison... overall, the ford is just a better package. If you are concerned about the hp difference, then toss on a few bolt-on's and you will have both.

 

My boss just bought a hemi and my 98 Expy is in the parking lot here at work more than his, he knows his dodge dealer really well though.
