It means "New Old Stock" or "New Original Stock". Either way the parts are SUPPOSED to be what you would have been able to buy when your truck was new (twenty-thirty years in storage). Purchased NOS door skins for my 67 Mustang when I was restoring but couldn't find (afford) NOS fenders for the front. Current versions where stamped in China and the body lines where no where near as sharp but did fit reasonably well. The term does get tossed around pretty liberally - especially on ebay.

If it is NOS, it should be packaged in a Ford box/bag with a Ford number, except larger pieces like fenders and doors which might not have come in boxes. Though please note, hoods usually did.

Almost every original NOS Ford part will come with a Ford number stamped or labeled on it. Some will need to be looked up in a cross reference book to get the true Ford part number, especially on electric or trim items.

I have a question about Ebay too....(Sorry, don't mean to interrupt your post). I won an auction for a center wheel cap for my truck on 12/26. I sent payment out on the same day. I can't get any emails to go through to the seller, and I haven't recieved it yet. What do I do? This was my first time bidding on ebay.

Try to email them again, if not file a claim, and leave negative feedback

do a search, find member, contact info with his user ID. It will provide you with the sellers telephone #.

If the Moderator doesn't mind, could you tell us the name of the seller? I think I know who it is- there's one seller on eBay that's gotten so bad you can't even look at his feedback anymore. He's set it up so everyone's locked out.

But I would like to know who it is, just so I can steer clear of him/her

I don't think it is who you are thinking about. The user i fairly new. Only had 2 feedbacks when i bought from him, now has 3. If you wanna know, I'll be glad to tell you.

I found his phone number, and talked to a woman at his house, she wrote everything down, so we will see what that does.

I can't see using EBAY myself. I occassionally see adds in paper of people wanting to "buy" accounts with good feedback. You can only imagine whats about to happen.

I've used ebay since it started. Used to make my living sellings odds and ends. Quit my day job, worked on my own schedule. It was awesome. But I got tired of it after a while and went back to the 'real' job. Now I just buy tons of junk there. I love it and have only once had a problem with a seller (over a 99 cent phone antenna of all things) which I eventually got resolved.

I think it's a valuable resource for guys with older trucks who have a hard time finding parts. If you pay with PayPal you're pretty much set. If the seller doesn't come through PayPal will take care of you.
