Yes, there are MAF's for our trucks, but I haven't really checked into where to get one.

About the injectors...why would you get them? Are you planning on totally decking out your engine? If so, I would recommend getting them later, but getting them with little to no mods will not help you any performance wise.

bigger maf? I am pretty much a guru when it comes to this crap. I devoted 6 hours of your tax paying dollars to researching such things for the SC im getting.

Check out the 90mm Lightning MAF for 152 dollars at www.madenterprise.com Check out the f150 area

Here is the quote I got:

Garrett,

Having trouble finding 42# Injectors, something about Bosch moving their production line to Spain.

Best I can do for a set of 6 is $274.00.

90mm MAF cost is $152.90.

Mike

Any other internals you may want? Also, found 3.73 for 135 dollars...anyone want a lead on those? How about a Pro series Auburn LSD for 325? Beat that steeda!! Hehehe....let me know...Im in good with some net guys who own businesses...anything you cant find at Motorhaven, lemme know!!

By the way, if you do get the bigger MAF or TB, you need to get your computer to recognize those changes. I would suggest getting those items, AND a diablo from Ken. IMHO, of course

Dalonso:

Get the headers next for sure. Better ignition wires aren't really going to make your truck 'perform' better all of a sudden, but with your mods, headers would make a nice touch. There are only (pretty much) 2 dealers that make headers for our 4.2's.

www.macperformance.com <--they are not on the site, you'll have to get the number and call them.

and then jba makes some also.

Yes, you will definately need to upgrade to a Diablo chip. Just call Ken at motorhaven. You will not be dissapointed.

its way less restrictve than a stock AF, but IMH), you should get a TB at the same time. On top of that, you need your computer to recognize one of both of those upgrades.

Why don't you just port/polish your original TB? I've been looking into myself, and so far it seems pretty simple. I'll let you all know how it turns out if I do it.

I seem to remember that the stock intake manifold is only 65 mm. I don’t think you would see any performance gains from a bigger MAF. Several people who have already ported/polished their stock throttle body to reduce turbulence/increase flow all seem to feel this free mod works well.

I'd try that and then the Chip and headers

The stock MAF, from what I remember, is smaller than the TB....So, due to what I was taught about physics (correct me if im wrong Brian) if you went from small to big, you would have less pressure, and vice versa, from big to small more pressure. I think its the same concept of the sprayer nozzle on a garden hose. You force a bigger quantity through a smaller exit.

Also, IMHO, if you are going to do the MAF, you should do the TB as well.

I would do the chip too, but would wait on headers. I think its been mentioned before, that headers might only really give you gains after you have the complete intake exhaust combo.
