have a 79 f250 2wd w/ np435. she currently sits at 237k miles
my 85 f150 4wd w/ t19 is at 184k miles.
i have a freshly built sixer going into the 79 with all kinds of goodies both in it and on it.
i'm always finding new pics from projects that other folks put together, learning new things about these motors, and coming up with new ideas almost every day. can't seem to get enough of them...and i cant thank the folks here and abroad enough for their guidance and criticisms.

Just picked up a 94 F150 XLT X-Cab SB 2X4 ZF5-speed 4.9l. 240,000 miles. Aside from the power steering needing air bled out, and a slight exhaust leak, this bad mother effer runs like a top! It's my 2nd 4.9, first with a stick. Damn is this thing fun to drive! Gets 16mpg, too! Happier than a pig in slop!

All you guys talking about high mileage, anybody have an old truck with low miles? My 77 4x4 is at 89,000. She doesn't get much use these days but she always starts on the first try and still feels strong enough to pull a house down. She's remained the strongest mare in the stable for me for years!

1988 4.9l, M5OD tranny,1/2 ton, 2wd. Odometer says 72,xxx. No idea on actual mileage. It was a fleet truck for 10 years, a carpenters truck for 8 years. The carpenters son inherited the truck as his first vehicle and drove it through high school and 3 years of college then decided it would be a good idea to let it sit BEHIND the garage with the hood up for an entire year. I rescued Ole Hank (the truck) 3 years ago for $400. I fought wiring issues for the first year but it has never let me down because a mechanical engine issue.

request for particulars
Do you do any hard off road (bed loaded, steep inclines & rock/bumps/mud etc)? I ask particularly due to reports from others on transmission ills. I have been offered the mazda and will replace particular components if you can tell me of your experience...
Thanks, D.FG95.

Hey there. I'm new here and noticed you ID your tranny as 4speed w/OD. I have a five speed and wonder if it is the same as yours. Is mine really a four speed with an OD? Is there a way I can tell exactly which tranny I have? I have a 95 F-150 w/ 4.9IL6 4x4

Sorry for the delayed response... I have had some time off.
The 5 speed manual in the F150 was introduced in 1987. Before that, it was a 4 speed manual [3 speed plus O.D.] By the way, that is a nice looking truck and place!
