anybody here ever used jeep axles on their 4x4

Ihave a 85 jeep wagoneer that i was told has good front and rear axles for a 4 wheel drive setup. Do these old jeeps have gear ratios, axle width, etc that i would be looking for to convert my 65 F-350 to 4 wheel drive ? thanks

In my opinion it would be a waste of time.. those axles will probably be much too small for your f350. Check some junkyards and try to find a newer 350 w/ a d60 front end and a sterling rear. They arn't toooo terribly expensive, and will most certainly get the job done trouble free!...
just my .02$

good luck

The axles on the wagoneer are a great base for lighter weight 4x4 (like the wagoneer, scout, wrangler, stuff like that), but for the 350 i'd have to agree, you're gonna have to go big.

If you check the pumpkins, they are probably on the right hand side of the vehicle, opposite what a Ford needs.

Those axles are also going to be too narrow for your application. However, if you are looking to get rid of your waggy axles, lots of folks are looking to put them into their Wranglers. You might check jeep boards and see if you can sell them (if that is what you were looking to do).
